WHY IS BIM IMPORTANT TO YOU?
From a computer science perspective, BIM is the natural progression from unlabelled geometry to metadata on objects. This is important because this shift enables more advanced analysis including simulation and optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence. This is the primary way for us to improve designs and achieve compliance with ever-more challenging building performance goals for health, safety, and sustainability.
WHY ARE YOU A MEMBER OF TBIMC?
The AECO industry is highly multi-disciplinary and complex. Consequently, the advancement of the industry must be a community effort involving education, the development and sharing of best practices, and working together to raise the bar. As the largest city in Canada, and the fourth largest city in North America, Toronto and its BIM community has a unique opportunity and obligation to help drive progress in BIM technology to maximize positive impacts in sustainability and social equity. I joined tBIMc to support the community and contribute to this effort as best I can.
WHAT SHOULD OTHER TBIMC MEMBERS REACH OUT TO YOU ABOUT?
Generative design, digital twins, encoding standards and building codes, simulation, process analysis, or optimization.
