WHY IS BIM IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Since I was exposed to Revit in my first BIM class in 2015, I have been fascinated by how a single software could be so powerful for the architectural design process. Having grown as a professional, appreciating how BIM is more than just software, I now believe BIM is the key to drastically innovating the construction industry.
It is widely known that the AEC industry is the one that has been the slowest in embracing technology. With all the tech available now - from AI to robotics- the time is ripe to bring construction up to speed with the other industries. I firmly believe that the medium to implement these technologies should be BIM processes and tools.

WHY ARE YOU A MEMBER OF TBIMC?

Collaboration is the key to bringing BIM to its full potential. A strong community advocating for BIM can help bring further innovation to the construction industry.
Furthermore, this community can be a great place to meet like-minded professionals to exchange ideas.

WHAT SHOULD OTHER TBIMC MEMBERS REACH OUT TO YOU ABOUT?

My current focus is BIM-generated Asset data for Facility Management so I would appreciate perspectives and opinions from other professionals on the matter. Facility management is often overlooked as a BIM use, and I believe more conversation should happen around this, especially among professionals coming from different sides of the AEC industry.
A great passion of mine is visualization, ranging from 4D and animations to photorealistic still images, and I'd like to explore what VR and game engines have to offer, so I would be happy to have a chat about this topic.
I also enjoy testing new tools and software; my favourite is Autodesk Refinery. So, if anybody has a beta-version software you want to bring to my attention, I'd be happy to try it out!
