Claudia Cozzitorto is a practicing architect and the Director of BIM and Digital Practice at Maclennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects (MJMA), A Director and Vice-Chair of Communication for buildingSMART Canada as well as the RAIC representative for the Institute for BIM in Canada (IBC). Leading the implementation of BIM in multiple offices, she is an advocate of collaboration, openBIM and BIM workflows.
Omar Zuberi is the Virtual Design and Construction Manager for Eastern Canada at EllisDon Corporation. He brings an Engineering degree, 2 years of IT/web development, and 10 years of Construction industry experience with him; with projects ranging from large scale retail, high rise residential, hospital, and TTC subway. Omar helps deploy and support the constantly evolving people, knowledge, and technology of BIM on projects while pushing the boundaries of collaboration and open interaction.
Steve Nonis is a Partner at Turner Fleischer Architects, leading the Residential + Mixed-Use department and is at the forefront of the firm’s BIM initiatives. He joined the firm in 2002 and was instrumental in TF’s pioneering efforts to apply 3D design processes to satisfy client objectives. Steve’s hands on approach wasn’t taught in the classroom – it’s a consequence of respectful collaboration with clients, consultants and trades. He is driven to achieve the optimum connection between advances in new design technologies and the pursuit of breakthrough architectural solutions.
Arash Shahi is the Associate Director of Building Tall Research Centre at University of Toronto and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Waterloo. Arash brings over 10 years of experience in managing construction research projects and has a passion for finding solutions to the challenges faced by the construction industry in implementing BIM processes and integrating innovative technologies.
Amal Madanat is a design manager and BIM leader at Multiplex, she manages and oversees Multiplex BIM strategic planning in North America. Her career is focused on digital delivery strategies for large scale projects.
Andre Carvalho is the Design Technology Leader at Gensler and an early adopter of the BIM process, championing it since early 2000. With many years of experience in BIM implementation and management, he has assisted some of the largest and most important Canadian AEC firms successfully transitioning to BIM. He is very active in the BIM community, where he shares his opinions on the process and the tools.
Akira Jones is a Mechanical Engineer and the BIM Leader at HH Angus. He brings a deep understanding of BIM processes, Revit MEP and other BIM software tools. This knowledge was gained over many years’ intensive experience. Akira now manages the firm’s group of BIM specialists along with our knowledge management initiatives around BIM technologies for operations staff.
Jackson Fung is the BIM Manager at Diamond Schmitt Architects. In his career, he has focused on implementing BIM and pushing BIM beyond design to facility management. He holds CanBIM BIM Professional Level 2 credential.
